Ich habe Asia Pacific Network und das komplette lateinamerikanische Netz per htaccess ausgesperrt. Erfolg: Spam von durchschnittlich 600 auf 20 pro Tag reduziert.

Dank dem Akismet-Support im aktellen s9y-Spamblocker sehe ich auch fast nichts von dem Spam, es sei denn, ich schau mir das Log an.

Askimet greift bei mir auch ganz gut. Nur hin und wieder kommt doch einer durch und das i.d.R. aus einem der besagten Netze.
Bei mir ist schon länger nichts mehr durchgekommen. Heute gab es allerdings mal zwei Einträge, die nicht rejected wurden, sondern in der Moderation gelandet sind. Auf jeden Fall ist das wenig genug, dass ich da momentan keine weiteren Maßnahmen ergreife.

For a couple of weeks ago a robot found it and started to send me 150-200 spam mails a day. The logic of that activity escapes my understanding because sending that much junk to one single inbox is certainly not going to attract symathy against their message. I have now removed the form and killed the script as I should have done for ages ago.

It's easier for me, because I have readers from europe and north-america only. But if I look at my serverstats I can see masses of bots coming from asia and southamerica. And exactly these IP-ranges are blocked now.
Last week I got spam from a single IP in the USA. 200 entries in 8 minutes. I looked at the stats and found out, that it was a small company. I wrote them a mail and they found out, that their machine was hijacked by southamerican hacker. 10 minutes later the american server was off.
Now they change their serversoftware from Microsoft to RedHat Linux.
But thats not possible with every spamming server in the world

In der Vergangenheit hatte Larko manchmal Schwierigkeiten, hier zu kommentieren, weil Akismet seinen Kommentar für SPAM gehalten hat. Das habe ich dann darauf geschoben, dass Larko ja auf Englisch kommentiert, was vielleicht eher mal Wortfilter auslöst.
